O2 APN Settings for Android

If you’re using an Android device on the O2 network, you can set your APN (Access Point Name) settings by following these steps:

Start from the home screen and tap the Menu button. Then, select Settings. From there, you’ll want to tap either Wireless and networks or More Settings, depending on what’s displayed on your screen. See also the how to check o2 number Germany as well as the Nokia Lumia 505 and the LG U-Mobile.

Next, tap Mobile Networks, followed by Access point names. You’ll then see an option to tap New APN.

At this point, you’ll need to enter some specific data into the onscreen form, without changing any other settings. The name should be set to ‘o2 Internet’. The APN should be ‘mobile.o2.co.uk’, or ‘payandgo.o2.co.uk’ if you’re on a Pay As You Go plan. The username should be ‘o2web’, or ‘payandgo’ for Pay As You Go. The password in both cases is ‘password’.

For the MMSC, enter ‘http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002’. The MMS Proxy should be set to ‘’, and the MMS Port to ‘8080’. The Authentication type is ‘PAP’. If you’re given a choice of options for the APN type, select ‘internet+mms’. If the keyboard appears, enter ‘*’.

Once you’ve entered all this information, tap the Menu button and then tap Save. This will save your new APN settings. Remember, the fields you should have completed are shown in blue text in the image below. If you’re still having trouble with these settings, I recommend contacting O2’s customer service for further assistance.
