Bluetooth

Sure, here’s a version that a 16-year-old might find easier to understand:

Bluetooth is a cool tech that lets your phone connect wirelessly with other devices. For example, if you pair your phone with a Bluetooth handsfree device, you can use your phone without even touching it. The best part? Your phone and the other device don’t need to be super close or in direct sight. They just need to be within 10 meters (30 feet) of each other. But remember, walls or other electronic devices can mess with the connection.

This device supports Bluetooth 3.0, which includes various features like connecting to a headset, handsfree device, stereo, and more. To make sure your phone works with other Bluetooth devices, use approved enhancements for this model. Check with the manufacturers of other devices to see if they’re compatible with your phone. There might be some places where you can’t use Bluetooth. For more info, check out the Bluetooth Technology organization Web site: https://www.bluetooth.org/. Just remember, using Bluetooth can drain your battery faster.

To turn Bluetooth on or off, do this:

  1. Slide the phone up, hit the Key [MENU], then press 9. Tools & Settings, 7. Bluetooth.
  2. Hit the Left Soft Key [Turn On/Turn Off]. A confirmation window will pop up.

To connect your phone with a new device:

Slide the phone up, hit the Key [MENU], then press 9. Tools & Settings, 7. Bluetooth, 1. Add New Device.

If Bluetooth is off, you’ll see “BLUETOOTH POWER ON” on the screen.

You’ll see a message: “PLACE DEVICE YOU ARE CONNECTING TO IN DISCOVERABLE MODE”. Hit the Key.

The device will show up in the ADD NEW DEVICE menu. Choose the device you want to connect with, then hit the Key [PAIR].

You’ll see a message: CONFIRM THE PASSKEY <xxxxxx> ON [DEVICE NAME]?. Choose Yes and hit the Key. If you want to always confirm before connecting to the Bluetooth device, select Always Ask, then hit the Key. If you don’t want to confirm every time before connecting to the Bluetooth device, select Always Connect, then hit the Key.

Once connected, you’ll see the device listed in the Bluetooth menu and the Bluetooth device connected icon will show up at the top of the screen when connected to the Bluetooth device.

In the Bluetooth menu, you can turn off the device by hitting the Left Soft Key [Turn Off]. Or turn it on by hitting the Left Soft Key [Turn On].

If multiple devices are displayed, choose the device you want to connect to. Likewise also see the Nokia 7230 Manual article on this website.
