The Exynos 8 Octa (8890) is a 8th Series Samsung processor built on the 14nm FinFET LPP process much like the Exynos 9 Octa (8895). This was the first custom processor from Samsung built on the 64-bit ARMv8 architecture. The chip also includes an LTE-advanced modem which allows for downlink speeds of up to 600Mbps and uplink speeds of up to 150Mbps as well as eight Cortex-A53 CPU cores.
Exynos 8 Octa (8890)
The Exynos 8 Octa (8890) has a 30 percent improvement in performance as well as a 10 percent in power efficiency compared to the earlier processor being the Exynos 7 Octa. The chip also comes with a Mali-T880 MP12 GPU which allows for 4K UHD video recording and playback ability. This in turn also provides for 4K UHD (4096×2160) & WQUXGA (3840×2400) display resolution support.
