Snapdragon 200

The Snapdragon 200 by Qualcomm, a pioneer in smart connectivity, plays a pivotal role in the evolution of smart devices. This processor, an essential component in the mobile revolution, seamlessly adapts to the demands of the next generation of connected devices.

Primarily designed for entry-level Android tablets and smartphones, the Snapdragon 200 boasts four quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU cores with a clock speed of up to 1.2 GHz. Its capabilities extend to an Adreno 302 graphics card, an LPDDR2 memory controller reaching a maximum of 333 MHz (single channel), and a 3G radio module.

While the performance of the Cortex-A7 cores is modest. Likewise, suitable for basic tasks and browsing, the Adreno 302 graphics card, clocked at approximately 400 MHz, serves the entry-level segment. Consequently, resource-intensive games may experience challenges in high settings.

Further enhancing its versatility, the integrated video engine supports the encoding and decoding of 720p H.264 videos and the decoding of H.265 videos. Display-wise, it accommodates resolutions up to 1280×720 Pixels. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11n (2.4 GHz) WiFi, and a 3G modem (UMTS/HSPA+/WCDMA, max. 42 Mbit/s, with dual and triple SIM support).

Manufactured using a 28 nm LP process, likely at TSMC. The Snapdragon 200’s low energy consumption makes it suitable for compact smartphones. See also the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 on here. In summary, the Snapdragon 200 epitomizes Qualcomm’s commitment to democratizing intelligent connectivity. Despite being an entry-level SoC, its array of features positions it as a reliable choice for diverse devices.
